    Wind Damage West of Helena, AR on U.S. 49: Semi Blown Over

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     UNC Asheville meteorology student bookie24 and three of his classmates drove their own vehicle to witness the massive storms and possible funnel clouds on Saturday in Arkansas. 'We intercepted that storm in Dewitt, Arkansas, and encountered a lot of power flashes. We couldn't tell if it was the tornado or not, but there was a funnel shape,' he said. 'We went up to Helena, Arkansas, and that's where I saw the semi truck overturned from straight-line winds.'

    We just got done intercepting a tornadic supercell with a confirmed tornado around the De Witt, AR area when we ran across some wind damage. The damage is not believed to be a tornado, but could be damaging straight line winds. A semi was overturned, appeared to be insulation in the street, and other various sheet metal in close proximity to the semi. Upon arriving we saw multiple and long lived power flashes. We believe this happened minutes before we arrived.Emergency vehicles were responding and arriving on the sun as we passed. There were other areas of minor wind damage throughout the area. Nothing significant from what we could see.
