Deadly tanker crash
Approx 1:00 AM Tuesday morning, a deadly crash took place in Elizabeth NJ, route 1 and 9 and bayway roundabout. At the intersection, a tanker full of gas and a car collided, the car hit the tanker underneath the tank and ignited in flames, the fire consumed both the car which was stuck under the tank and the tank itself. Victims remain inside the car incinerated. I had no words when I realized the burnt car still under the tank while hazmat teams work on it. Elizabeth police and hazmat teams are still controlling (9:35am)the situation to avoid further damage but the aftermath is devastating. Unknown number of victims in the car, house sidings are melted, a traffic light converted into a hanging wire and a very very scary moments for the nearby residents. the foam used by the hazmat still fills the highly transitated route 1 and 9 and everybody looks in disbelief the unusual situation. route 1 and 9 and adyacent streets ramain closed and teh detour has caused a jam of magnificent magnituted. Lets pray for the victims and for the changes to come on the traffic regulations to avoid accidents like this.
