This iReport is part of an assignment:
Married at a young age? |
Teenage parent of a Down Syndrome Son
I was 18, fresh out of high school, pregnant, and NOT married. I attended 1 yr. of college during my pregnancy and worked 55 hr. days. I had no idea I was going to be giving birth to a special needs nor would it have mattered. I raised not only this son, but my youngest child by myself and although it was a struggle by no means did I want to get married or be forced into marriage.
I applaud Gov. Palin for standing by her daughter in this very trying but joyous time. God sees our mistakes and forgives those who ask for forgiveness. He must think of me as strong willed and love me very much in order to handle all that life has thrown at me. My oldest son is living testament that God works in mysterious ways and that miracles happen daily!
PS - I "was" voting Democrat, but the addition of Gov. Palin to the McCain ticket has moved me to pull the lever in favor of the Republican Presidential Candidate.
