Super PACs vs. the little guy: Why donate?

    More from joanniebalon

My donations to a Democrat don't count in America?

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Longtime Democratic voter joanniebalon, from Charlottesville, Virginia, says she donates to campaigns because, living in Virginia, 'our Democrats need all the help they can get.'

In her video, she says: 'I honestly didn't realize that the super PAC has that much power, to the point where the individual donor, like me, is of much less importance. This is a sad day for America, and for me in just realizing this. No wonder lots of people are so critical of our politicians and of our political system. I need to be joining that side of the room very soon. But America was built on the power of the little people, like me, who care about what decisions are made inside the beltway. What happens when that individual power no longer counts? Perhaps being an American is a lost art. I still contribute to the Democratic Party and local Democratic candidates, because I refuse to turn over my rights as an American citizen to the super PACs.'

My video tells my story. America is comprised of individual Americans, not powerfully funded Super Pacs. Stand up, speak up, contribute to candidates or the party of your choice
