    Chinese New Year-NYC

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     RVCFOTO went to the Chinese New Year parade in New York City on Sunday to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. 'Adults and kids wanted to touch the dragons along the route to good luck,' she said.

    NYC Chinese community celebrated the lunar calendar with a parade marking the Year of the Dragon.

    Floats, musicians, acrobats and giant dragons paraded in the street of Chinatown and ended with a cultural festival in the park.

    A beautiful cake weighing about 500lbs by The Cake Boss -Buddy Valastro--depicting two dragons on top of a pagoda was showcased on one of the floats. Slices of cake were given to spectators to try at the end of the parade. It was delicious!

    The Dragon is said to be the deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority.
