    Gunflint Mail Run

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     StephanNorth says it's been an unusually warm winter in Minnesota. He says that's been good for his area, because it's one of the few places in the state that actually has snow. He says people are worried that the lack of snow will lead to drought.

    The Gunflint Mail Run is a re incarnation of a early sled dog race that was the for-runner to the famous John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon out of Grand Marais MN. It was brought back this year due to the lack of Snow at the starting point in Duluth MN. The only place in Minnesota that has snow this year is on the tip of the Arrowhead on lake Superior near Grand Marais and up the Gunflint Trail.
