Retrospect on First Annual iReport Awards

Do you remember last year's iReport Awards? I don't. :(

At the time of last year's Awards, I was not working at CNN.com and I wasn't involved in the iReport world. But, with or without me, iReport honored 36 nominees in 6 categories in the first ever iReport awards - and thousands of people voted to select a Community Choice Award. 7 judges, Including Ze Frank (http://www.zefrank.com - I'm a fangirl), chose a winner from each category.

To check out last year's site and browse the nominees and the winners visit:

This link will take you to the site, as it is displayed after voting was closed and the winners were revealed. But do you remember the voting process? I have some screenshots of last year's site durning voting, to jog your memory:

Image 1: Homepage when voting open
Image 2: Nominee Preview when voting open
Image 3: Homepage when voting is closed, winners not yet announced.

So the question I raise is...What do you remember of last year's voting experience?

How did you hear about the Awards?

Did you vote for a friend?

Did you browse ALL the nominees before voting?

Did you gravitate to a particular category?

Did anything about the experience confuse or frustrate you?

Were you a nominee? Or a winner? What was good - or bad - about the experience?

Would love to hear your thoughts.
