The soldier I would like to salute is my amazing husband, Private Timothy Sheaffer of the 1484th Transportation Company serving in Afghanistan. A year ago this month he found out he was deploying, I, at the time was living in California. We had gone to High School together and reconnected through Facebook. He and I just so happen to have the same birthday, he is literally 4 hours older than me. When he told me he was deploying he flew out to get me and moved me back to Ohio. We got married a couple months later, and now have an 11 week old daughter, Brooklyn. We were able to Skype during her birth. He is an amazing man and we are two peas in a pod. I am so proud of my husband and all that he is doing and accomplishing over in Afghanistan. Not a day goes by where I don't think about him. It's been hard having a newborn and not having my husband with me, but I know this time is for the best in the long run. He has a kind heart and always knows how to make someone smile. I anxiously await the day of his return home, so he can see his daughter, buy a house, and we can be a family. He truly is an amazing man, and keeps me strong. I love him with all my heart. I would also like to salute the Company he serves with and thank them for their sacrifice and to keep going strong, because not too much longer and they will all be returning home! HOOAH!
