    Dachshing through the snow

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mirnastl says shops are open and public transportation is almost back to normal in Sarajevo, but the winter storm caught other parts of the country off guard. She says her dog Lala loves the snow and really enjoys burrowing through the snow banks.

    Lala, 11-month old dachshund mix enjoys in 3-feet deep snow in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
    On February 4th, state of emergency was declared nation wide. Hundred of villages are cut off and relief is being brought by helicopters. One person froze to death.
    In Sarajevo, however, the atmosphere is carnival-like - some people ski, snowboard and drive snowmobiles in downtown Sarajevo. Citizens who got engaged in shoveling yesterday, got a break over a barbecue. Free tea is being offered in the streets for the passers by and even free daycare is available as schools and kindergartens will be closed until Friday, February 10.
