    Vacation Pictures with a twist

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     "I've only been on Pinterest for a few weeks and I'm addicted!" said mccanndj. "I go on it every day, usually 5-10 times, and I am usually looking for DIY projects for the house." Check out her other project, a mason jar storage shelf, too.
    - rachel8, CNN iReport producer

My addiction to Pinterest continued and instead of watching the Superbowl on Sunday I was crafting. Soon I'm moving into a new apartment and the thrill of having new space to play with is overwhelming, so I am really into the DIY projects. My first project (the mason jars) was pretty easy, so I figured I would do a 2nd project. I found a great idea for vacation pictures (http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/230646/good-things-destination-weddings/@center/272506/destination-weddings#/106915) and then did a small twist on them combining the idea from another Pinning I did (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nLT_lkdv5wI/TtM2NWyaAlI/AAAAAAAAD9Q/AUZBh86rEJ8/s1600/DSC_1124.jpg) and combined the two. My boyfriend and I have taken two trips in the last few months, so I found a map of both areas, drew a heart on the places we actually where, cut the map to the size of the frame, and then printed out some black and white pictures of us from each trip. I got the frames (2 for 1!) at Michaels and the maps were about $5 at Barnes & Noble. It was the easiest project and it looks so cute! I can't wait to put these up in my house and start on my next project--turning an old window into a mirror and collection of pictures!
