    Atlanta Confection Shop takes a Radical Approach to Fight Against Slavery

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     gradynewsnow tells the story of Atlanta confection shop Sugar-Coated Radical, which uses only fair trade and locally sourced materials. The owner is dedicated to fighting slavery in the sugar and cocoa industries.

    For every tantalizing shot in this video, there’s smart reporting behind it. From interviews with the shop owner and customers to the research that went into the narration, Taylor – who produced this when she was 18 – is a storyteller we hope to see more of in coming years.

    This is a story I reported on for my high school news broadcast, Grady News Now, about a local confection shop here in Atlanta GA. Sugar Coated Radical is dedicated to human ethics and fights against slavery in the sugar and cocoa industries by making products with only free trade ingredients.
