    Syria: Bloody Borders

Bashar al-Assad's violence against his own people is so blatant it probably could be seen from space. Thanks to China and Russia's veto of a UN resolution calling an end to the carnage, it will likely continue and spread. Russia, of course, wants to continue supplying arms to the regime (many no doubt being used to slaughter civilians) and China can't be see as favoring unrest lest they look in their own restive back yard. And more and more Syrians die each day.
