Santorum's positive tone is helping him surge

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     omekongo shared his reaction to Rick Santorum's three-state sweep of the Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri contests in the race for the 2012 GOP nomination. 'I think The Romney factor is an issue. Some people will never embrace him because of his Massachusetts record with healthcare and because he is a Mormon,' he said. 'If in 2008 I began to feel that Clinton and Obama were getting negative, nasty, racist or sexist, I probably would have voted for John Edwards if he was being positive, or I would not have voted at all. I think that's why some Republicans are staying home.'
    - jmsaba, CNN iReport producer

While it is obvious that no candidate has run a completely positive campaign, Rick Santorum is coming off as a more positive alternative to the other candidates. With so many undecided voters in this election, the tone a candidate sets is really going to be a deciding factor for many voters. Gingrich and Romney should be on notice.
