Flying through mid-air in Upper Michigan
- zdan, CNN iReport producer
Over 70 ski jumpers from 11 different countries will be flying through the air during the 2011-2012 Continental Cup Ski Jumping Competition. This is near Iron Mountain, Michigan at Pine Mountain Ski Jump. This is the 2nd Largest Artificial Ski Jump in the world located right here where I live.
Official jumping doesn't start until Saturday, but this didn't stop these jumpers from at least trying "Giant Pine" out first. The hill record is expected to be broke this weekend. Many World Cup Ski Jumpers are competing here this year. We are all excited!!
