    Massive snowstorm hits Bucharest

Romania is being severely hit again by a new massive snowstorm that left tens of tousands isolated and others without electricity in homes completely covered by the fresh white powder. 43 national roads and one highway are still closed to traffic. The South-Eastern city of Constanta, the 4th bigest city in Romania on the Black Sea coast, it is completely isolated of the rest of the country since all the roads to there are closed. The national air carrier has operated special flights from Bucharest to Constanta due to high demand. 74 people died since the begining of the cold, 3 weeks ago. In Bucharest, it continuously snowed for the last 36 hours, adding a fresh new snow coat of up to 60 centimeters to the existing one. Even though the main boulevards are all cleared now, people can't really use their own cars since these are all covered by snow. The access to local transportation is difficult since the sidewalks are covered by huge snow banks.
