    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kingrenteria shared these photos of same-sex couples sharing an impromptu Valentine's Day "marriage" ceremony on the steps of a San Antonio, Texas, courthouse. '[Speaker] Julie Pousson said reminding everyone of the inequality of same sex marriages is appropriate for Valentine's Day because Saint Valentine was persecuted for performing illegitimate marriages,' he said. 'It was clear at this point that even though this ceremony was taking place on the steps of a County courthouse, the Constitution would take a backseat... It baffled me how the opposition's main basis of not wanting same-sex couples to have the same rights as straight couples is strictly a religious one.'

    Dozens of couples celebrated Valentine's Day by getting married on the steps of the Bexar County Courthouse at the stroke of midnight. Gay and lesbian participated; only their marriages will not be legal as the state of Texas does not recognize same sex marriages.
