    Making Mealtime Fun, Fighting Obesity

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     A simple shift and change in your eating habits can have a positive ripple effect says Jennifer Tyler Lee...
    - JacqueCNN, CNN iReport producer

Like most parents, I struggled to get my kids to eat healthy, balanced meals. So I decided to make it a game -- Crunch a Color™! (www.crunchacolor.com) Launched in September 2011, the game has garnered national attention, won several awards, and has been featured by Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and others as a great way to get kids to eat healthy. It seems that what works for my family is working for others!

Played at mealtime, kids earn points for eating a balanced and colorful plate of veggies, fruits, proteins and grains. Bonus points for trying new foods and good manners!

The game works because it makes mealtime simple and fun, empowers kids to choose nutritious foods for themselves and encourages family time at the table. Plus, a portion of each purchase* supports non-profit children’s programs including FoodCorps, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, and Alice Waters’ Edible Schoolyard.

This short video tells the story of how my picky eaters turned into healthy eaters playing the game. http://youtu.be/7KBJ9_xDecU

I am honored that something grown from our family table is able to help other families, and contribute to the fight against childhood obesity.

    - Jennifer Tyler Lee
