'Stop detaining children', students tell government
Students at De Montfort University (DMU) say the British government must stop detaining children.The students also say the government must allow asylum seekers equal access to education and the right to work.
They made these demands at a demonstration that was staged on 8 February 2012 at the university.
The students are members of the DMU chapter of Student Action for Refugees (STAR), a national network of students concerned with the welfare of refugees and asylum seekers.
