    cork art

I've been saving corks from the wine I drink at home. I've always planned to do something crafty with them but didn't know what. I started using Pinterest about 2 weeks ago and decided to search for ideas. I found a lot of wine cork crafts! They included a cork bath mat, cork coasters, cork wreaths, cork boards and more. At first I thought about making the bath mat but you need a lot of corks and I would have to keep saving! Instead, I chose to make a wine cork board.

I found a picture I liked of a cork board on Pinterest, then I looked around the house for an old picture frame. I found one and took out the glass. I arranged the corks how I liked them on the frame. I didn't do as precise of a pattern as the picture though. I also used different sized corks, including a few Champagne corks. Once I got everything to fit. I picked up a few corks at a time and put a thick layer of glue on the back board and replaced the corks. When I was finished, I set a heavy book on top of the board so the corks would dry in place.

I will definitely use Pinterest again for projects! I already have my supplies to make bath salts and bath fizzies next!
