Manila, Philippines - Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten Season, as Catholics, we celebrate ash Wednesday by hearing mass and having our forehead marked with ash mixed with holy water.
It is our way of showing our faith and our preparation for the incoming Holy Season.
In the photo, people are lining up outside Quiapo Church to have their forehead marked. Many devotees came making the Church Priest decide on having the marking done outside. The festivities went peacefully with no reports of disorder.
