Ice floe on the Tongue River

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     jyngbr70 shot this video on February 24 of ice floe moving down a bend of the Tongue River, near the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in southeastern Montana. The floe 'was caused by a sudden thaw with ice jamming the river at various point along the river,' he said. 'Three other ice jams along the river exist and are flooding two homes. This summer we had massive flooding along the Tongue River, but because of the frozen ground, the water reached further beyond its banks without saturating into the ground.'
