Buckhorn High School Hit In Huntsville, AL
I was able to communicate how close the tornado was to her up until 16 minutes before when all power and communications went out in her area. As soon as the tornado hit I drove to the school to look for her.
Damage was apparent immediately and houses in the area were severely damaged. I went inside the school to dark, damp, and very hot hallways full of apprehensive teens all trying to use inoperable cell phones to call their parents.
My daughter was near a west side door and watched the tornado come into the parking lot and damage the cars, throw dumpsters down the street, and hurl debris everywhere.
