McCain's big night: Your reaction |
I cried tonight and last week...for very different reasons!
I am filled with such anger, frustration, disappointment and sadness after watching the RNC. I felt it only fair that I watch (or try to) the RNC as I watched as much as I could of the DNC. I am a huge supporter of Obama's, in case you couldn't already tell! ;)
I cried at his speech...I can't believe that at 30 years old I will be able to vote for an African American. Beyond that, I can't believe I have a candidate I absolutely believe in! The first time I got to vote was for Clinton and was so excited. It feels so nice to have that same excitement I felt on the first time I cast a ballot!
I cried tonight...for very different reasons. Was it just me or was Palin's speech infuriating? I am appaulled at her words. I will admit, she's a better speaker than I anticipated, however her words put me over the edge. I will admit, I did miss some of her speech. I had to turn it off throughout as I was just yelling at the TV, but I did see most of it as I paused CNN. I couldn't believe that she spent so much time talking about her family, going on and on. During which time she exploited her son going to "I"raq (can't she say it right?!?!) and conveniently on 9/11! I find it horrible that she did that, Biden didn't, Biden's son even didn't when he spoke...isn't she putting her son in harms way? Then she went on to exploit her youngest son...seriously, seriously! Did she really need to say she'll fight for mothers of special needs children? How low to try to tug on their heart strings, to use them in such a manner. They then went on to have her daughter on the stage in a tight dress to show off her baby bump holding the hand of her "fiance" (or shall I say f*n redneck as he describes himself on myspace). I am dumfounded.
She then went on to lie about Obama, lie about Biden and not tell whole truths about the republican agenda. She claims we as democrats don't want to do anything about the economy and energy resources. If you didn't know, offshore drilling won't have any effect on the economy for 10 years at which point it will be a whopping 2 cents per gallon...yes you heard that correctly! In addition, we all know democrats have a history of not caring about the environment or the economy...WOW! She was condensing on so many occasions, but the worst of all was when she was describing community leaders. I am so saddened she would speak of the people who are really doing the work in this country to help people, especially during these difficult times. They are the ones making a difference in people's lives on a daily basis, what a way to really show out of touch she is too, not just McSame!
And how dare the McSame campaign think that we women are stupid. What an insult to think Hillary supporters will vote for him just because he chose a woman. Hillary does not equal Palin. If Hillary were in the nominee and he chose a black man, I wouldn't vote for him. Hillary supporters are smart and if still undecided they will look at the issues and see that his policies are so far off base from Hillary, they can't possibly vote for him and Palin. As a woman I am hurt by this audacity.
I believe in Obama. I believe this country can vote him into office. I believe we will finally be rid of Bush and his atrocious time in office. But how am I to have faith in the American people that they won't vote in these SAME idiots as was done in the last two elections?
Please America I beg you to really learn about the candidates and see that YES WE CAN!!!
sigh
P.S. What the heck is up with those buttons...Hot Chick from the Cold State for VP...really, wow now that's someone who really seems to believe in Palin as a politician!
