Stand your ground is a great law

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Patrick says as a father of two small daughters living in a neighborhood that can at times feel a bit unsafe, he thinks Florida's deadly force law, also called "stand your ground law," can be very effective and useful. He says he wants to feel secure, and does not want to be defenseless if his home was ever broken into. "If you don't have a gun, then how are you going to protect yourself from someone who is armed?" he asks. Patrick says he appreciates and understands people's concerns about gun safety, and he also thinks stricter gun laws like the ones in New York should be applied to other states across America. In regards to the Trayvon Martin shooting, Patrick says the incident was a tragedy, and he feels like George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed Martin, may be using the law as a way to avert blame.
