    Hate Crime in Mississippi

CNN just came across with the Headline that the three White men who murdered (beat to death) a Black man in Mississippi have pled guilty. No clue yet about if a plea bargain of any type was reached, however I'd bet money that the death penalty was pulled from the table. If it weren't however, and given my personal stance against Hate Crimes in general, and the death penalty was imposed, instead of just killing them, could we kill them in a meaner fashion? How about with a guillotine? Perhaps a page from the Old Testement, or current day Islam and take them outside the prison walls, secure them to posts (or bury them in the head) and stone them to death. See, that's the only way you'd get that additional punishment so needed by some out there.

I am of the opinion that pretty much any murder, rape, beating, violent crime of any kind should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law regardless of the color of skin, the religous book in hand, the sexual preferrence of the victim, etc. Isn't that what we have been trying to get rid of? Special treatment for special groups...but now people are demanding special punishment for special groups. What???

If I were to be murdered by someone of my same race, and while they were shooting me, they were yelling "Die you SOB, you Bastard" I'd be just as dead as if they were members of the New Black Panther party shooting me yelling ""Die you White SOB, you White Bastard".Adding a color does not make me less dead, I'm still dead and there is no coming back.

If a straight woman and her gay friend are raped, and in hte process both are both called profane names, but to one of the women the word "lesbian" was added, are we not telling the other that her rape was less severe or less tramatic than her gay friend's rape? No...they are both the same crime and they should be dealt with the same.

Now, I know there are many out there who will vehemently disagree with me on this, and that's fine. I am just not of the mind that there should be extra special treatment in the justice system for someone based on their race, creed, color, sexual orientation, or religious leanings nor do I think there should be extra special punishment for someone  based on the race, creed, color, sexual orientation, or religious leanings of the victim. Punish the criminal for the crime and not the victim. Creating a special punishment for one set only demeans the others.

It's time we all remember we are of one race...the Human Race and we are all on this planet for the forseable future.
