In March, 2012 I took a 2 week trip to central India to photograph tigers. What is was surprised to see were the numbers and varieties of birds in India's forests. Eagles, Hawk Eagles, Serpent Eagles, Fish Eagles, Rollers, Owls and so many more varieties which I was unable to recount were present in plentiful numbers. Without exception I was able to approach the birds and take some amazing closeup photographs. The best bird viewing happened in Jim Corbett National Park. For any birders looking for a new place to go birding I would recommend the forests and national parks of India.
