STUDENTS SACRIFICE THEMSELVES BY MARCHING 41 MILES FROM DAYTONA TO SANFORD.
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
A coalition of about 40 students from all around Florida have organized themselves under the name "DREAM DEFENDERS" in search for justice. Infuriated that George Zimmerman still hasn't been arrested, these students have taken to the streets march 41 miles from Daytona, Fl. to Sanford, Fl.
They are marching to bring light to the issue and also to try and bring change to the Jim Crow mentality in the state of Florida. Their objective is to build a platform to address these types issues nationally in hopes of getting justice. They believe in our judicial system but also acknowledge that there have been flaws in the process to seek justice. They also believe that now is the time to standup and get involved in making the much needed change.
More and more people our joining us in our cause as some have even driven out to find us and march with us. Students from FAMU, FSU, TCC, UF, UM, Morehouse, and others from around nation are included in this group.
These student activists have also been sharing their stories via social media. Witness the movement for yourself.
