The Dream Defenders: Set On Marching For Trayvon Martin
- Jareen, CNN iReport producer
Inspired by the 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery, a coalition of students operating under the name Dream Defenders have dedicated themselves to marching from Daytona, Fl. to Sanford, Fl. in hopes of seeking justice in the Trayvon Martin Case. Since their journey began yesterday, they have received support from all over the nation including the support of Jeff Johnson, an award-winning journalist, social activist, and political commentator that is also marching with them.
Together, these Dream Defenders have covered over 21 miles and show no signs of stopping now. Filling the air with chants and soulful songs of justice, this enthusiastic group plans to rally at Allen Chapel in Sanford, Fl. at 7pm tomorrow night to announce the next plan of action.
What exactly will that entail? STAY TUNED!
I have a feeling this revolution will be televised!
