As part of my ongoing Interfaith research for my upcoming documentary, Freedom Riders 2012, my family and I are taking part in activities in and around Yorba Linda, California by the various churches.

Today was a great day at the Yorba Linda High School, where Crosspointe Church (Christian) celebrated the joyous day of Easter with great music, speakers, and a helicopter egg drop for the kids.

I split up the media on the above tabs because there was just too many megs to put into one video.

1st video-The helicopter comes in and drops plastic eggs for the first age group of 2-3 years old. The helicopter made several drops for the different age groups including, 4-5,6-8, and 9-11 years old. The plastic eggs were sealed with transparency tape, but still quite a few cracked open upon landing. The helicopter in all dropped over 10,000 eggs. There were also special eggs with special prizes, including (according to my son) a XBox360. Even though we didn't win it was still a great time by all. The crowd was filled with people from lots of different faiths, including Muslim.

2nd video (tab 2)- Crosspointe Church opened the celebration with some great songs. The stadium was packed. The sun was beating down really hard, but luckily a cool breeze filled the air. My voice can be heard saying "My gosh, this is so awesome," and that's exactly how I felt. Everyone was so kind to one another, which can sometimes be a rarity.

Tab #3- Brian Moore, the lead Pastor for Crosspointe Church gave an invigorating sermon on how to deal with stress. He likes to call it a 'soul rest' that is needed by all. I agree that sometimes we turn to other means to relieve stress (ie. drugs and alcohol) that we need other ways to calm our minds by asking a higher power. He also told a great story where his car was stolen, but was happy when he got it back because it had a full tank of gas. It's great to find the good in the bad.

Tab #4- Guest speaker was John Crawford, the bass guitarist and founder of the band Berlin. He spoke how his rock star ego destroyed his marriage, but recovered when he gave himself to Jesus Christ. He will be celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary in a couple of days.

Tab #5- Meet Sid Fowler, a member of the Crosspointe Church. He was one of many who directed everyone over to the egg drop at the end of the service. He was full of joy and happiness on this day.
