Puerto Galera As Nature’s Paradise In The Philippines (Part 2)
Puerto Galera is the north-westernmost municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. It is known as a natural island-resort for beach-lovers. It is located at the southwestern end of the Isla Verde Passage, about 130 kilometers (81 mi) south of Manila. It's about 3- to- 4 hour ride from Metro Manila.
I was able to go there for the very first time last Feb. 17 of this year. I stayed there together with some of my friends for about 2 days. It was an amazing experience to visit such 'municipality' because it's quite a wonderful place. My friends and I really enjoyed our vacation there because it's natural beauty really captivated our senses.
UNESCO designated the place as a Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1973. It has some of the most diverse coral reef diving in Asia. Puerto Galera is a coastal town which is well known among tourists for its numerous pocket beaches and many snorkeling and Scuba diving spots.
The Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World has 'a listed' Puerto Galera and is the only one among the bays in the Philippines to be given such prestige,
There are a thousand things one can do in such an amazing place. Landlubbers can put up tents, throw a Frisbee, play beach volleyball, light bonfires, gaze at the moon and stars, go beach-hopping, watch the sunset, rock climbing, hike, ride on a bicycle, go rock climbing, drive a motorcycle, discover Oriental Mindoro’s other tourist spots or simply live it up.
But the main attraction of the island is its 'water'. Shimmering and crystal clear especially during the hot summer months, the sea framing Puerto Galera is ideal for sailing, surfing, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. In fact one doesn’t have to go by boat to get to a dive site. Within a kilometer from the coast, trumpet fish, frog fish, lion fish and leaf fish weave in and out of thriving corals and sea anemones while species of starfish – from the speckled red-and-white to the neon-blue Pacific – rest on the sandy floor. There's paradise underneath the sea-waters surrounding Puerto Galera!
Puerto Galera is one of the top tourist destinations in the Philippines. The Philippines is a tropical country that is quite blessed with beautiful beaches and white sands. It's a country that is rich with natural resources. The Philippines is a land filled with natural sceneries that can wonderfully amaze one's spiritual and physical senses.
