    Desperate for Comprehensive Energy Policy

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Mahariffic, a former iReport Pundit of the Week, selected energy as her top issue this election. She says energy is important because it 'affects everybody.' 'It is difficult for me to afford filling my gas tank. And I have noticed more and more people stranded on roadsides with a fuel container nearby. That's telling. People are so strained that most can't afford to fill their cars to the point that they are vulnerable,' she said.

    My top debate issue is energy, including use of resources and reserves; water and health care, and new technologies and licensing facilities...I could go on and on, but in-the-weeds-issues aren't real sexy.
