    Panagbenga Festival

Every last week of February, people climb to Baguio to enjoy the week long activities of the Panagbenga festival. Baguio is referred to as the country's summer capital because the city is on top of the mountains where the weather is cool. Native products from this mountain province that visitors love to take home are the peanut brittle, strawberry jam, ube jam, sturdy brooms, and roses. These tasty treats are unhesitatingly purchased at Good Sheperd, where the nuns manage the livelihood project to assist the poor mothers and children from this area. The highlight of the event is a parade of flowers which symbolize a good harvest. Every month of the year has a festival that highlights a certain province, and February is the month for Baguio.
