    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mysakthivel shot these photos on April 11 of people evacuating to the streets of Chennai, India, in the aftermath of an 8.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the Indian Ocean. 'All roads are shut now. Tsunami warning has been alerted. Roads are getting blocked with traffic,' he said. 'Roads are getting thick as most of the offices have been declared closed. People are mad rush getting back. No immediate damage reported.'

    Around 2:30pm today the buildings started shaking...people inside multistory experienced a considerable shake. Chaos soon struck in street as floors where emptied and people ran from buildings.

     

    Again when we settled inside the floors after 20 minutes..the tremors started..we experienced the vibrations at least...thrice...in different levels and time..one after another...

     

    Most of the commercial complex and offices have been shutdown...traffic is too hectic on road now..
