    Fire at the NJ Meadowlands

    Firefighters from 5 towns are battling a large brush fire in Carlstadt NJ. The fire started around 1:15 edt and spread near the NJ turnpikes western spur. It came within 50 yard of wherehouses causing evacuations. Crews quickly responded and pushed the fire back  75 yards back. They anticipate the large fire to burn itself out at the banks of the Hackensack river.
