This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Let's dig through the archives

    Old House

I was unable to find my house in the 1940 census because I am unsure of where my house was in 1940. Originally built in 1687 in what is now Asbury Park, it has been moved 4 times ending up in it's current location in Ocean Township. The last move was from an intersection that does not appear on the 1940 census maps.
The house was built by a master carpenter from Deal, England and remained in his family for about 200 years. The history of the house from 1955 to present is known, but from around 1889 to 1955 is a mystery.
