This iReport is part of an assignment:
Does racism still exist, and where does it start? |
New Black Panthers ?
I was not aware of the "dead or alive" statement made by the New Black Panther Group...... still not sure they said that... nor am I in anyway supporting this New Black Panther group... didn't even know they still existed... and I can only guess at what their agenda is... totally surprised me to hear of the reward they put out for capturing Zimmerman... even without the "dead or alive" statement I didn't think that was legal... as a matter of fact, I thought it was uncalled for trouble in the makings... something to add to an already questionable Civil situation.... however; I still believe its up to the Law to handle whatever it is they may have done illegally if anything at all... I personally feel uncomfortable with anyone issuing a bounty for the death of anyone else... I grew up with the ORIGNAL BLACK PANTHER GROUP... I thought there was a need for them at the time... I didn't always like what they did but I thought like so many others; there was a need for them.... I believe it took both a peaceful(MLK) and physical(BP) attack on racism back in the day and I wanted to join them the Black Panthers(BP)... see, back in the day, some racist didn't want to hear anything about peace and equal rights... and why should they, I mean they had the upper hand and the Law wasn't bothering them much and they pretty much did whatever they wanted to do... but they, those practicing racism understood self defense and personal threats of violence when added to the request/demand for Civil rights... the eye for an eye thing... and while I am totally against unprovoked violence, I still believe the same to be true today... it takes some of both at times... and to be informed, vocal and voting is a must for those challenging racism... and people practicing racism should be challenged at every point in every way...whatever it takes...
