This iReport is part of an assignment:
Travel photo of the day |
Kilimanjaro Sunrise
This was taken at the summit as the sun lifted over the morning clouds at 19,340 feet.. So many have made the climb that the photos is almost no longer relevant.
The Greeks said "There is nothing new under the sun."
However, this is why we all travel and collect moments and memories and photos. We won't be passing this way again.
And I will not go gentle into that good night. I'm going to rage, rage against the dying of the light. To quote my friend Dylan Thomas.
One moment can last a lifetime. And the photo takes me back to the sweet sessions of silent thought as I gazed North to Kenya. So much to see, so little time.
