Buffalo cow guards new calf
I was cautious and quick. They will charge a tractor or a horse or anyone in a truck or on foot.
Indeed, they will charge and put their head through a truck door or window and think nothing of it.
My friend tried to herd one through a gate while he was on a horse. The buffalo turned and charged the horse and hit it on the side and putting it down, breaking my friends leg at the same time. He's lucky to be alive.
But these are rugged, splendid creatures that have sttod the assaults of man, natives, droughts and great blizzards and fires. And they still cling to the prairies.
