    Proud To Be an American

People say I’m unpatriotic because I show a Confederate flag in my videos and that I have one in my dorm room window and hanging on my wall. Well I’m one of the most patriotic Americans around, because I love my country 110%. I’m not racist at all either, so don’t judge me. In class I get in trouble for having too much Americanism. Sometimes I almost let tears roll down my eyes when I hear the song “God Bless the U.S.A.”. I have the upmost respect for our veterans and active duty members, because without them I wouldn’t be able to voice my opinion about anything. Voicing your opinion, now that’s an American thing. Some countries people get killed for voicing their opinions, but over here in America we are free to do so. It sadness me when people disrespect me and my confederate flag, and I’ve never said one bad thing to them. I though the American spirit is to fight for what you believe in, and if you treat other people with kindness and respect, they will respect you. America has lost that, because I can pull up tons of comments of people disrespecting me and I’ve never said one disrespectful thing to anymore. You see me carrying my American flag on the football field leading my former high school team onto the field. That’s something that I did by myself, because I believe the American flag should lead everyone into battle, no matter that it is. The Confederate flag in my video is so special to me because an American soldier sent me his flag because he said I inspired HIM! I’ve never met this guy in my life and he watched my videos and said I inspired him and he has hope in American because of me. Now I was shocked because to me, American soldiers inspire me, because they are protecting me and Americans liberties. They put their lives on the line everyday for people they don’t even know or probably will never know. You can disrespect me (I’m just going to keep ignoring it), but don’t disrespect his Confederate flag that he sent to me, please. You might not agree with me liking the flag, but is it wrong to stand for what you believe in? Alexander Hamilton said “He who stands for nothing will fall for anything.” All I have to say is I do love America and if I had to I would die for my country, without no hesitation. America has been good to me, and I owe it to my country to be the best American I can be in trying to bring peace, hope, and respect back to our country. I just hope the rest of yall are proud to be Americans and remember why our flag stands for freedom. “Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can't take that away. And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.” United We Stand and May God Bless America
