    Destination U.S.A.: Santa Fe

Hot Springs close to Santa Fe!

About an hour and forty-five minutes drive from Santa Fe is a quaint mountain village that has therapeutic hot mineral springs! Anytime I'm on vacation, I search out the hot springs in the area because it gives you that mid-vacation rejuvenation--traveling can be exhausting these days! There is a place called The Giggling Springs Hot Springs in this village, (Jemez Springs), where you can soak outdoors in a natural hot mineral water pool next to the Jemez River. Gazing at mesa and mountain scenery while you relax, listening to the sounds of the river, and having a fruit smoothie brought to you while you "take the waters" makes it a perfect vacation activity for de-stressing and feeling nurtured by Mother Earth. Swimsuits are required, and children 14 and over are welcome. The pool temperature is maintained at a comfortable 102-104 degrees and the water is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and silica. It's a small place and the number of people allowed in at one time is limited so call ahead and reserve your spot if you know you're going. On the drive out, you'll be on a beautiful National and Scenic Byway. You can get more information on the place at www.GigglingSprings.com and if you want to stay in this cute village, check out www.JemezSprings.org
