Patrick Beverley and Jonas Valanciunas receive Eurocup top honors

Before the final of the 2011-2012 Eurocup season, Euroleague Basketball president and CEO Jordi Bertomeu presented the MVP, Coach of the Year, and Rising Star awards.

Patrick Beverley, leader of St. Petersburg's Spartak, received the top award. The 23 year old took the MVP award after averaging 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 16 games.

19 year old Jonas Valanciunas, the Lithuanian from Lietuvos Rytas, was awarded with the Rising Star award. The 5th pick in last year's NBA Draft averaged 10.8 points and 7.6 rebounds, also, in 16 matches.

The Coach of the Year award was given to Spartak's head coach Jure Zdovc. The Slovenian took over his current position just this season and was successful right of the bat.

The Eurocup All-First team was also announced in the final's pre-game ceremony. Other than P. Beverley and J. Valanciunas, it also included Renaldas Seibutis (Lietuvos Rytas), Nik Caner-Medley (Valencia Basket) and Zoran Planinic (Khimki).
