This iReport is part of an assignment:
Space to Smithsonian: The shuttle's final journey

Idea to display the space shuttle

Why nobody ever considered displaying the shuttle in section. Two one-way mirror walls will allow the display of a half shuttle, completing the view with the missing half while allowing the public to view the inside of the shuttle from the other side of the wall. The mounting may be on one side simulating space (in flight with bay open) and on the other side landing. That shuttle will never fly again and how else can people see all the real shuttle from inside?
