When George Washington became president he was handed a stack of papers.
Money owed to the United States, money owed to Europe, money owed to the states. Then money that belonged in the US Treasury from tax collecting that had to be used to run the government. President Washington thought he could run the government like his farm Mount Vernon, he quickly discovered he was out of his depth. And handed the mess over to Alexander Hamilton ( First Secretary of Treasury) , with a few adjustment over the years are the same problems we have today.
So good luck with changing it, better men have tried and failed.
