Buffett Rule - Paying "Fair Share Act" Blocked By GOP Senators

When 72% of the American people want something and the Republican Senators in Congress don't deliver, what does that tell you?

It says that Republicans don't like rules or regulations. Had Democrats called this the "Buffett Concept" rather than "Buffett Rule", it still wouldn't have passed. Nothing of importance will get passed while Republicans control the Congress. They are the do nothing and pass nothing Congress.

"All Republicans in the US Senate with an exception for Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine voted against the Rule. Apparently one Democrat from the Great State of Arkansas, Mark Pryor, voted with the Republican in the senate."

Many Republicans believe that the poor don't pay their share- that they should be made to pay. Actually they do- federal excise tax on gas is a federal tax. They pay Social Security Tax. But this doesn't count, apparently.

One Republican blogger said : "Amazes me they keep talking about fair but they do not make all Americans pay the same rate, wouldn't that be fair. Yet the 49% pay 0% because they can't afford to pay anything. SO they make everyone else pay more. Somehow that doesn't seem fair to me".

This is the level of understanding of a progressive tax system that most Republican voters have. GOP leadership relies on their ignorance to get re-elected.

The CNN/ORG poll reads as follows.

"Would you favor or oppose a proposal to change the federal income tax rates so that people who make more than one million dollars a year will pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes?"
    April 13-15, 2012
    Favor 72%
    Oppose 27%
    No opinion 1%

"Your Senate at work Americans! Now, think in terms of what our nation will be like should the GOP take over the Senate and retain a majority in the House.

If you want a complete horror story, think about Mitt Romney at the Oval Office helm, while the GOP runs roughshod over every American who earns less than $250,000 per year, is a woman, or a minority voter.

After watching people like McConnell, Thune, and just about each Senator who voted against the Buffett Rule support without question Bush's policies, I ask, "How can the Republicans in the Senate simply ignore such an overwhelming sentiment as indicated in the poll."

Republican leadership doesn't consider middle class Americans needs to be important. They have their real constituents needs to think about protecting- Exxon, the Kochs, etc
Yes, the Republican Party- economic hitmen for the conservative wealthy
