The fate of Egypt-Isreal treaty is uncertain

In the first test after the Arab Spring to Egypt-Isreal treaty signed in 1979, war of words broke out after the Mufti Dr. Ali Gomaa visited Jerusalem. He is Egypt's Grand Mufti and the country's top Islamic cleric in El Azhar.

The Islamist parties (Muslims Brotherhood “MB” and Salafies) that lead the new Egyptian Parliament considered his visit a crime required his immediate resignation and he should be indicted, brought to justice and be charged with Acts of Treason before the highest Court. This position is contrary to their initial pledge to honor the peace deal with Israel right after the revolution.

Osama Yassin, Assistant Secretary-General of Muslims Brotherhood’s Party, and chairman of the Youth Committee refused categorically the visit paid by Dr. Ali Gomaa regardless to its justifications and reasons confirming that it represents a real disaster and a blow for National and International jihad , who succeeded in foiling all attempts to normalize relations with Isreal over the years.

El Shater, chief strategist and financier for Muslims Brotherhood, in his first response after was disqualified from running as a presidential candidate, declared “armed struggle” althought MB renounced violence right before Egyptian parliamentary election. I wouldn’t be surprised if MB has its own rebels joined by Al-Queda giving birth to Jihadist Superstate. Also, Salafies who view the Jewish state as their nation's top enemy accused Grand Mufti that he recognized the State of Isreal by his visit.

Obviously, Islamic parties failed the test. What evidence is there to support MB’s pledge to honor their words?

One does not have to be an expert on Islam or the Muslim Brotherhood to know that they will never abide by any treaty with Israel. We are now in 2012 and the so called “Arab Spring” has brought no Democracy to any Arab Nation, it has brought nothing but death and destruction to the region and put more Islamists in place.

For those Americans who are interested, Muslims Brotherhood is the same international Islamic terrorist organization that has given birth to the jihadist terror groups al Qaeda and Hamas. Will the Egyptian – Israeli Peace Treaty remain as it is, or will its terms be reviewed, or could it perhaps even be terminated? Last January, Muslim Brotherhood movement declared it may bring the fate of Egypt's peace treaty to a referendum.

According to the MB website, the principles of the Muslim Brotherhood is including firstly the introduction of the Islamic Sharia as the basis controlling the affairs of state and society; and secondly work to unify Islamic countries and states, mainly among the Arab states, and liberating them from foreign imperialism particularly in Palestine and Saudi.
