- I was a TOP British radio dj in America during the 60's British Invasion !
- Let's NOT risk WW3 over Crimea !
- UN-BRITISH SAVAGERY UNLEASHED BY COWARDLY, INHUMAN, SCUMBAGS IN TODAY'S BRITAIN !
- The people of Arizona NOT politicians should decide !
- Good luck Scotland...show us the way back to National pride !
DICK WAS A DJ's DJ ! AND BANDSTAND AN INOVATEDLY STIMULATING PLEASURE TO WATCH AND ENJOY !
I watched and enjoyed Dick on Bandstand from the 50's,It was exhilirating to say the least and compelled watching and enjoying ! Dick Clark was an unimitable and talented presenter, absolutely an original in every aspect ! I have been a radio and television DJ, journalist and entertainer since the 50's in the UK, Australia and US and I definately identified with DC on my way up my career ladder ! He was an exceptionally smooth commentator during the birth and explosion of R&R together with a variety of other music and artists and helped launch the start of most of music's top talent through the decades!
There will NEVER be another Dick Clark !
Some entertainers are trained in broadcast schools, some get lucky and just land a broadcast job on the spur of the moment, others get there because of WHO rather than WHAT they know and the right connections, etc. but Clark made it to the top of his profession because he was the RIGHT Guy at the RIGHTtime on the RIGHT show and America and the World's most popular television music program.
DC was age defying and proved that some DJ's get BETTER....not OLDER !
NO DRUGS OR VIOLENT GANGS ETC...just good, clean, family type fun and delightful mood setting music that made folk wanna get up and dance...and that's exactly what we did ! Today's generation would do well to take a good look back to the 50's & 60' and emulate what DC and bandstand and the young folk of yesteryear enjoyed !
It's true...the best things in life ARE free and SIMPLE !
I was a top British DJ in America during the British invasion of the 60's and helped top bands like the Stones, who I also introduced on stage at their controversial Portland Oregon concert in 66.....launch their careers to stardom. I feel humbled and proud to have been part of the music, talk news and journalist World for over 50 ears and appreciative of the contribution and example set by people like DC !
" HE ILLUMINATED THE BEST OF AMERICA "
