    When I was just 16 in 1982 I was in a southern style rock band. We did a 45 record at Arthur Smith studios and sent out copies to everyone we could think of, including Dick Clark
    Imagine our suprise when his assistant called our manager ( the guitar players father) and told him that Dick "Loved it! He says it's one of the most refreshing sounds he has heard in a long time!"
    He also wanted to use it for a Rate A Record spot in an upcoming show. Of course now we are convinced we are going to be famous!
    Then we got the second call....the ABC censors wouldn't allow it because of a line, "We are gonna have some fun and get a belly full of beer."
    None the less we were told how bad he felt about it and he was sorry for getting our hopes up.
    Never met the man but what a class act! RIP Mr. Clark.
