    Never Ending Debt

At 46 years old, my life has been an ongoing cycle of debt that I simply cannot get out from under. I have had many up's and downs that have kept me off balance financially, often starting over. Like many people my debt started after graduating from college. A modest $20K in student loans was deferred as I struggled to find employment that could afford me both rent and the ability to pay back the debt. Soon I found myself in the situation of being a single father fighting for my parental rights and custody of my new born daughter. Again, the student loan debt was deferred as I incurred additional debt in the form of legal fees/lawyers, not to mention the expenses of raising a newborn. Years passed quickly and though I landed a good job and began moving up in my career, the debts I could manage to pay off while managing child support at over 25% of my income, did not include my, now consolidated, student loan.

Today I am 46 years old and my daughter is 15 years old and a freshman in high school. My student loan debt, though I have made payments on and off over the years, has escalated to an ENORMOUS 90K+!! To compound the issue I became unemployed last October. I have used all my savings, maxed my credit cards, used what was in my 401K, and now rely on support from my family to maintain my modest town home. I am out of options. Though I hope to land employment and be back on my feet soon, I cannot see the light at the end of this enormous debt tunnel. I am under incredible stress when thinking of the future and my daughter's college expenses or even my own retirement.

I am responsible and I own up to my own situation, however I need serious help to somehow come out from under this crushing debt.

    Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,
    Buried Alive!
