Black Economic Council Workshop

San Jose, California -- The Black Economic Council conducted a
workshop at the Radisson Hotel San Jose last Friday the 13th,
on Blueprint for Doing Business with the Public Sector.
The Black Economic Council is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to provide people of color an economic platform that facilitates business formation, job creation, access to capital, financial fitness, and equal opportunity for employment and promotion.
Andree Driskell, the vice president of BEC, emceed and introduced Jed Silvers,
who gave an awesome insight in Government Contracting. Richard Li, the Vice
President of East West Bank spoke about Business Finance Strategies. Yolanda Lewis, the Deputy Chief of BEC, did an interactive session regarding
Marketing Strategies. Len Canty, the BEC Founder and Chairman, gave
tips and tricks for economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
The Black Economic Council raised awareness for January 1, 2013, the
150 years historical anniversary when then President Abraham Lincoln
signed an executive order emancipating 3.1 million Blacks from slavery.
