Horror Photos May Force US Out of Afghanistan More Quickly

As Afghani president Karzai points to the most recent US soldier horror photos as rationale for earlier US disengagement from his country, you have to ask: was it meant to be? Perhaps in a strange and cosmic way the atrocities of certain over the top personnel will be forcing us to move out of the region once and for all--well, at least for the moment. isn't this what most americans want? Scaling down our military interventions around the world--unless we or our allies are being directly threatened by an aggressor, of course. One can only hope that the scaling back of military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq can free up billions of dollars for social programs that will strengthen the american economy, rebuild our infrastructure like bridges and dam and allow us to save up all our nickels and dimes for the real military threats in our world, like North Korea and Iran, just to name a couple. as someone once said, you've got to ride the horse in the direction he's going in and for us, that means bringing the troops home.
